Freshman win the 2010 CHSAA Championships

Over the weekend the freshman swimming and diving team capped off their undefeated season by winning the CHSAA Freshman Championships by just under 100points. It’s the first time in team history a freshman team scored over 300 total points and scored points with every single swimmer and diver entered in the meet. The meet started off with the medley relay team of Patrick Conaton, Mathew Gold, Declan Kennon and Mathew Lantin breaking the CHSAA league record set in 1997. Patrick Conaton also broke CHSAA league records in the 50 Backstroke from 1991 and the 50 Fly from 1992. Team records were also set by Declan Kennon who won the 50 free and 100 free and Richard Mannix who also won the 100 IM. Mathew Lantin won the 50 Breaststroke with Mathew Gold finishing a close 3rd. In the diving portion of the meet Billy Quintano, Chris Lazzarro and Chris Gjekay finished 3rd, 4th and 5th. The meet ended with another team record and winning performance in the 200 Free by: Brian Martinez, Oliver Patrouch, Sean Melnyk and Richard Mannix. Patrick Conaton was named MVP of the meet.  Congratulations to the team for a tremendous season.
