Freshman Team Wins CHSAA Championships

 Over the weekend the freshman swimming and diving team competed in the CHSAA freshman championships. After going 7-0 on the season the team looked to hold off Chaminade for the meet title. The quartet of Timothy Buttigiet, Chris Aventuro, Michael Verini and Steven Tierney started the meet with a gold medal performance in the 200 Medley Relay just missing the league record set by last year’s team. In the diving portion of the meet Brendan Mcloughlin, Julian Zedeker, Marc Sapeg and Alex Esterine-Reid finished 1,4,7,8 respectability with Brendan narrowly missing the team diving record. Combined with outstanding performances by Ian Bidwell, Kyle Merone, Brian Heubel, Jack Collins, James Letson ,Cameron Pinn and Robert Velardi, the team won the meet by almost 90 points. Chris Aventuro and Timothy Buttigiet were named co-swimmers. Congratulations to the team on a tremendous season.
